You cannot be a Christian and an Evolutionists, they are incongruent.

 

Rev John Rogers claimed he is an evolutionist. Here is what Richard Dawkins, the world’s most famous and widely read atheist and evolutionary biologist thinks of that. In 2006, Dawkins said, “the story of Adam and Eve was only ever symbolic, wasn’t it? Symbolic? Jesus had himself tortured and executed for a symbolic sin by a non-existent individual? Nobody not brought up in the faith could reach any other verdict….”. again he said, “The universe we observe has …. no design, no purpose, no evil and no good. Nothing but blind, pitiless indifference. DNA neither knows nor cares. DNA just is, and we dance to its music.”

 

Majority of Christians throughout the past 2000 years interpreted Creation as literal but around the 1800’s with the introduction of uniformitarianism and Darwinism some Seminary theologians shift from literal to figurative interpretation, it was because the new scientific opinion has seemingly been elevated to the status of being equal or superior to biblical revelation. Most theologians through the 1800s & 1900s did not have answers for the geologists and Darwinists so they compromised their Bible. Without any way of verifying the information they assumed the scientists really had proofs or scientific facts about the origin of life and age of the earth. In order to save face the theologians went back to scripture and revised it to fit these new popular world views they had adopted. Unfortunately, many years had passed before Christian scientists analyzed the data and the so called, scientific evidence only to discover that it was not the science that contradicted scripture but those who held the evolutionary world views who were interpreting the dated to match with their presuppositions. They then fought to impose their world views on the data and on the world. The battle was now between two world views, evolution and Christianity. Whose world view will be seen as the ultimate authority?

 

Evolution is incongruent with Christianity.

You cannot be Christian and believe in evolution and here is why. Some theologians falsely assume in order not to offend evolutionists we will say the days of creation were 100s of millions of years and that will solve the dispute and we get to keep our Christianity. This compromise is a failure because evolution says there was no creation. The order of events on each day must change. The length of time is different. God did not create the earth, moon, stars, animals or people. People evolved from Apes and Chickens evolved from dinosaurs. There was death, disease, thorns, suffering (e.g. dinosaurs) before God said Adam will die. The Bible said death came about because of Adam’s sin while evolution said death existed before Adam sinned. There is no sin. If death did not come about because of Adam’s sin then [1] the Bible lied [2] there was no need for Jesus to come to save mankind. There are no miracles. God did not become flesh. Dead men can’t rise and virgins can’t give birth. The whole existence of Jesus’ life is predicated on Adam being real and not a myth. You can’t have it both ways. Either you are a Christian or you are an evolutionist its impossible to be both.

Africa is the “cradle of civilisation”

Reverend Rogers implied that Africa is the cradle of civilisation because evolutionists found Ape bones in Africa. Evolutionists believe the first apes to evolve into humans occurred in Africa. Rogers links the cradle of civilization to –'ape to man evolution’. Black people hearing that Africa is the cradle of civilization may take this as a complement because the term is usually understood by Afrocentric historians to mean black people were the first highly developed human civilisation while other humans co-existing in other parts of the world were behind.

But this evolutionary view of Africa is not the Afrocentric view most black think of. This view speaks to the cradle of mankind, a view held by Charles Darwin (evolutionist) who said that Africa is where we find the Apes who are our closest ancestors and therefore was the cradle of mankind. So, Darwin was not saying that the intelligence and ingenuity (engineering, mathematics, civility and technological advancement etc) of black people on the continent of Africa were superior to all other people groups, he was saying it is the cradle of mankind because it had Apes first. He also said this was disputable because there was an old skull found during his time in Europe, which means mankind first came out of Europe. So, Archaeology was in dispute with Darwin at the time. Darwin spent some time with the natives of Tierra del Fuego and thought they were nothing more than “beasts” (animals).

Now according to evolutionary diagrams that depict the evolution of ape to man in textbooks you will clearly see as the chimp evolves to human. The stages start with black in colour and gradually evolve into the highest human form a blonde, blue eyed, white man the homo sapiens stage. Why? Darwinism spawned the belief that some races were physically closer to the lower primates and were also inferior. The polyphyletic view was that blacks evolved from the strong but less intelligent gorillas, the Orientals from the Orang-utans, and whites from the most intelligent of all primates, the chimpanzees

So, the primates, Apes, Chimpanzees, Australopithecus, and the homo erectus (earliest Africans) were not intelligent enough to build great civilizations. Its only the homo sapiens who could but by this time these were white people according to evolutionary interpretation.

Darwin’s cousin Francis Galton wrote several letters to Darwin about population control of the black man in England. He used the teachings of Darwin’s evolution assuming that blacks were more closely related to the Apes than whites and were nothing more than animals in an underdeveloped evolved state. He used the theory of natural selection as his basis for “scientific” racism. Claiming science justified his actions. He was the pioneer of Eugenics in England which led to eugenics in the U.S. then the U.S. taught eugenics to the Germans who used it on the Jews.

In 1904, Ota Benga was an African who was placed in an American Bronx Zoo in the science of Anthropology section to show the stages of ape to human evolution from the black African to the white man.

Rogers conflated “cradle of civilization” and the evolutionary view of “cradle of humankind”. The evolutionary view is not the celebration of African people but the striping of their dignity and humanity.

So, when you hear people bandying about the words Africa is the cradle of civilization they maybe speaking of something other than what you think.

Jude 3-4 3 Dear friends, although I was very eager to …(PREACH)… to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to …(PREACH)…  and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. 4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert and twist the grace of our God into a license …(to TEACH LIES)… and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign (created everything in the beginning.

Matt 7:15 “Watch out for false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are voracious wolves.

Col 2:8 Be careful not to allow anyone to captivate you through an empty, deceitful philosophy that is according to human traditions and the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

 

A Reverend in Barbados recently called Gen 1-11 a myth. When someone calls the Bible a myth, I consider this to be deliberate and calculated assault on the sacred Scriptures in three distinct ways. It is an assault on the divine inspiration of Scripture. It is an assault on the doctrine of Scripture’s authority. It is an assault on the Biblical truth which forms the foundation of the Christian faith.

 

Here are some clear contradictions that this preacher and others like him hold. After I list them I want you to tell me if you believe that a Christian can have these views and still be a Christian.

• Evolution says -Universe created itself-         God says-God created the universe

• Evolution says -Death before Adam--            God says-Death after Adam

• Evolution says -Graveyard before Adam--   God says-grave yard after

• Evolution says -Human life before Adam--   God says- Adam was the first life.

• Evolution says -Ape to man--                              God says- Dust to man

 

Here are 5 signs you have abandoned the faith,

Scripture says don’t listen to them for if you do, you are walking in the council of the ungodly.

If you openly deny God you are willfully sinning and Heb 10 said Heb 10:26 For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. Heb 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

 

Beloved, I know you are in a process of transition and searching for new leadership. But if your leadership don’t believe this then don’t let them touch the pulpit in fact don’t let them pass these doors.

 

1) You’re not a Christian if you don’t believe in the inspiration of Scripture

This is basic doctrine. All leaders of this Church and future leaders must believe in the inspiration of scriptures. To say scripture is not true is to say God did not inspire it. You cannot be a Christian believe it is made up book.

-Christianity provides documented evidence with an actual eyewitness testimony of creation. We have a witness the creator himself documented what happened at creation and put it in the Bible. Evolution does not have such witnesses. Evolutionists say that this witness is a liar and seeks to discredit this witness. Moses was not there so he was inspired by God to wrote it down.

- 1400 years later Jesus (God) arrives on earth and settles this debate on which origin narrative is correct. He came to Jerusalem, he did not go to Babylon, he affirmed the Biblical narrative of the origin of the universe and the origin of mankind. God and Jesus did not defend the Babylonian or Sumerian, Egyptian, Greek or Zoroastrian narratives. So, a Christian who claim God stole from the other religious origins stories is saying God is a thief and a liar and they can’t be a Christian.

 

 

2) You’re not a Christian and believe Genesis chpts 1-11 is figurative or a myth.

All events are literal, historical and real taking place in time and space.

-Jesus, the letters of the Apostles and some OT writers referred to Gen 1-11 as real proving it is historical. But if its not real then OT and NT are lies. You can’t preach they are lies and still defend them as not lies.

-Moses said that the garden of Eden has a boundary and he told us the boundaries the Euphrates river and Tigris river why say this. He is telling his readers this is a real historical place and you can go and see the boundaries for yourself. 

-how can you believe in Abraham is the 9th grandson of Noah if Noah never existed.

-If Abraham did not exist then his grandson Israel did not exist and if Israel did not exist then the Israelites did not exist and if the Israelites did not exist then the Jews did not exist and if the Jews did not exist then Jesus and his apostles did not exist and if Jesus and his apostles did not exist then the whole Bible does not exist.

  

3) You can’t be Christian and assault the Authority of Scripture

These theologians are under the pressure of scientific discovery. They, say “We must regard any creation account or narrative of human events that clearly contradicts scientific and or historical data as erroneous, mythical, or fictional.” 

One cannot say it any clearer than that! Any exegesis which contradicts “science” is erroneous, mythical, or fictional. 

Scripture will always be wrong and “science” will always be right. There can only be one authority. That means that the authority of science stands above the authority of Scripture.  If nature is the authority, then nature governs God, nature dictates to God and God bows to nature. God then is not God because nature is God. All science does is investigate nature and tells us what nature says. God tells us that if you investigate nature, it will tell you about me.

The problem here is that these Christians conflate science and nature. Nature is the creation while science is the study of creation/nature, they are not the same. This is problematic because

(1) often scientific findings are incorrect about nature and

(2) science does not interpret the facts of nature people do, people like evolutionists and Christians.

However, sin makes us so spiritually blind that we can not see the revelation of God in creation or nature unless we put on the glasses of Scripture or see through the eyes of the Holy Spirit. Hence, science must be interpreted in the light of Scripture, not Scripture in the light of science. Since nature points to God then all facts about nature should point to God but the evolutionists because of their a priori (rejection of God) intentionally refuses to see that the facts of nature points to God and therefore interpret them to fit evolution.

   

4) You’re not a Christian if you believe there was death before Adam

How do I know? Here is why. To accept evolution, one must have a creation in which there always was death.

Romans 5:12 says “Wherefore, as by one man sin came into the world, and death by sin; and so, death passed on all men for that all have sinned.” After the fall, God pronounced the curse upon the creation. The curse means that God in His fury against sin, brings death into the creation. This is the origin of death. There is no other origin.

They don’t tell you that these animals and people killed each other, and dinosaurs died from diseases and there were thorns and death in the world before Adam. But this contradicts the Bible which said clearly that Adam was the first man to sin. God brought death into the world after Adam sinned. Which do you believe death after Adam or death before Adam?

 

(5) You’re not a Christian if you don’t believe in original sin.

They will tell you Adam was not the first to sin, that people lived on the planet before Adam and they sinned,

-If Adam did not sin then we don’t need saving from sin, and

-if there is no sin to be saved from then no need for Jesus.

-No sin means Jesus never saved anyone from sin.

-If Jesus never saved anyone and you are someone then Jesus never saved you.

then Jesus is a liar. How can you say you were saved by Jesus and in the same breath say that Jesus never saved anyone?

 

6) You can’t be Christian and believe man evolved from Apes

-These preachers want to tell you that Apes and chimpanzees became man, but the bible tells you that dust became man. Pick one. You cannot believe in all two for they contradict each other. Which one do you think the preachers and theologians at these colleges believe? 

-These preachers tell you that dinosaurs lived 65 million years before apes and apes millions years before they changed into humans. Yet you find human footprints with dinosaurs 65 mil before the ape. This means humans are older than apes. You can’t be older than your grandfather. God said he created animals and humans on days 5 and 6. 

-God said he created life. Evolution said non-life (rock, mud, water, gas and lightning) got together and made life. What does science say. The biological law of science says life can only come from life not from non-life.

When we look at nature, we keep seeing God. You can’t have two masters and be a Christian.

 

 

Conclusion

It’s not too late for these men and anyone who hold these views in error. Now is the time for repentance and return to God.

 

1Cor 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

 

1 Peter 3:15: “…sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence."

I pray that this Church will hold fast to the truth and remain free of , for the truth has set you free already do not return to the world.

The Bible is a myth online discussion

Rev Rogers suggested that what the biblical writers, e.g. Matthew and Luke who documented the history of the world since Adam in order to prove Jesus' family lineage did not have proof, they felt that the myth (false story) was real to them (i.e. they were delusional). When Jesus quoted the myth of Genesis, he also was not quoting what really happened, he was perpetuating a delusion.  When asked questions, he used vague words with double meanings. So, he used the same words we use such as truth, mankind, historical etc, but with different meanings. This clever tactic allows wolves to gown themselves in sheep's clothing, camouflaging among those who fail to discern them. The use of language and terminology that have various meanings allows false beliefs to circulate within the Christian community.

He holds fast to the gap theory that i.e., there is a length of time (millions of years) between Genesis one and two; in two origins of life (one in chapter 1 and another in chapter 2, possibly two cosmogonies also, he believes death before Adam which means God not bring death into the world as a result of Adam’s sin, he does not believe in original sin by Adam nor that Jesus came to save us because of Adam’s sin, Adam was not an individual named Adam but a symbolism for mankind, he believes where the Bible and what he calls “science” clash that the Bible must bow to science, he does not believe the Bible is documented history, he believes the writer of Genesis stole/borrowed from other myths existing at the time, he does not believe God spoke to the writer of Genesis 1-11 (since it was stolen) therefore there is no inspiration of this scripture, He does not believe in the biblical flood, Abraham’s lineage was not real, if so then Abraham and his descendants the Israelites, Jews, Jesus for he was a Jew are not real. 

The basis of the Christian faith is grounded in the in reality of God and the reliability of the historicity of the Old Testament. On what basis can one value the Biblical “myth” over any other myth since all are made up and therefore lies. At what point can Dr. Rogers say I believed the Bible because…. If you say it’s a lie and you believe it then you declare you believe a lie and is also delusional. If you say the writers are delusional then you are also perpetuating the delusion. To him all religions espouse truths that are truth to the people at the time, this means that there is no absolute truth but truth is relative. No one religion holds the truth or is superior to another. Sorry, but this is a desperate compromise which cannot be logically explained. I submit that it is not the Bible that is delusional but these theologians who buy into this are delusional.

The gap theory

As you know, Apologies were written mainly to those critics of Christianity outside of the Church and polemics were written to defend the faith from those within (heresies) as in our case here today. So my polemic is against Rogers claiming the first 11 chapters of the Bible is a myth meaning not real. Some gap theorists believe the world was created and satan was given rulership over it and corrupted it with his vanity and Godly pride (wanted to be like God). He destroyed it with a satanic flood. God then dealt with satan and refreshed the old world. Remaking a new man Adam etc. 

The other view is that there was an old world and something went wrong (unknown sin consequence) and therefore God destroyed it and remade a new world and new life as we know it in Gen 2.

Rogers believe there was a creation of mankind in Gen 1 and after some time which he does not explain the cause (he mentioned millions of years) there was another creation of life, called Adam Gen 2. But this Adam though is not the individual Adam we know (Rom 5: by one man’s sin-individual). This Adam was a species of some sort that led eventually to the humankind. Now Rogers keep referring to Archeology discovering the source of mankind the Australopithecines in this case Afarensis (Lucy). He is implying that Lucy is Adam.

I will close with this, Reverend Rogers said he is an ardent evolutionist; however, I have always maintained that you cannot be an evolutionist and a Christian because the two are incongruent.

I leave you with these words from Richard Dawkins the most eminent evolutionist on the planet. “I think the evangelical Christians have really sort of got it right in a way, in seeing evolution as the enemy. Whereas the more, what shall we say, SOPHISTICATED THEOLOGIANS are quite happy to live with evolution, I think they are deluded. I think the evangelicals have got it right, in that there is a deep incompatibility between evolution and Christianity,”…
